The Kitchen Restaurant Group is Hiring a Staff Accountant Near Boulder, CO

Summary
Under the direction of the Director of Finance, the Staff Accountant will help to maintain, monitor, and reconcile financial reports, records, various accounts, and general ledgers. Success will be measured by the ability to maintain accuracy while meeting multiple competing deadlines. The ideal candidate should have previous experience with data entry, general ledger functions, and reporting.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities
  • Assist with period-end close procedures for the company
  • Reconcile Balance Sheet accounts to ensure timely and accurate financial statements
  • Prepare and enter recurring and non-recurring journal entries 
  • Maintain accurate revenue polling from the point-of-sale system
  • Maintain accurate fixed asset records, depreciation schedules, and property tax filings
  • Record and reconcile AMEX charges
  • Oversee monthly sales / use tax calculations and filings
  • Assist with year-end tax support
  • Monitor and reconcile all operating bank accounts on a daily basis
  • Monitor operating bank accounts for fraudulent activity and reporting within 24 hours
  • Assist with all day-to-day operations for AP/AR
  • Responsible for check runs and ACH batches
  • Process, analyze, and balance weekly payroll runs
  • Void and reissue checks as necessary, write final checks for terminations and reconcile uncashed payroll checks
  • Manage quarter and year-end processes as pertains to payroll and W2 generation
  • Assist with ad hoc projects and reporting as needed
  • Assist with keeping licenses and permits up to date
  • Occasional travel may be required, <5%
Qualifications
  • 1-3 years accounting experience required, preferably in a retail environment
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance/Accounting or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge of GAAP
  • Self-motivated with the ability to meet multiple competing deadlines
  • Advanced Excel skills required
  • Enjoy working in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment and be willing to take on responsibilities out of the general job scope

Working Conditions
  • Ability to perform all functions at the office level; operating office equipment
  • May be exposed to loud sounds and distracting noise levels from office equipment and other employees
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is nearly always indoors and is regularly required to sit, stand, get up; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear and taste or smell. The employee is frequently required to walk. 
  • The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, and crouch. 
  • The employee may occasionally lift, push, pull, and /or move up to 20 pounds
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Compensation
  • $55,000 - $65,000 annually
