Job Summary:

The job of the Host/ Hostess is critical to the restaurant operation. Our ideal candidate will enjoy a fast-paced environment, be detail-oriented, and have a true passion for guest service. They demonstrate genuine hospitality and setting the stage for an exceptional dining experience by making every single guest feel welcome at the door. You’re the first and last person to whom they have contact with.

Activities & Responsibilities:

• Greet Guests
• Engaging in friendly conversation as you seat guests in a timely fashion.
• Introducing guests to their server.
• Set tables with appropriate silverware, glass, and china; maintain neat and clean workstation during service.
• Managing restaurant waiting list during high volume to accurately set guest expectations.
• Assign guests to tables suitable for their needs and according to rotation so that servers receive an appropriate number of seats.
• Utilizing Open Table, Guest Description, retrieve guest to seat, name, and number of party when tables become available.
• Answer telephone calls and respond to inquiries or transfer calls to Bar for TOGO Orders.
• Knowledgeable of all menu items and inform guests of establishment specialties and features.
• Receive and record guests' dining reservations.
• Inspect every 30 minutes, restrooms for cleanliness and availability of supplies and clean restrooms when necessary.
• Always sincerely thanking guests as they leave and inviting them to return.
• Check Menu’s to make sure they are clean, current and in good shape.
• Communicate effectively with guests and team members to ensure the guests' experience meets concept/company standards.
• Assist with preparing and serving food and beverages.
• Fill-in for fellow employees where needed to ensure guest service standards and efficient operations.
• Attend all scheduled employee meetings and offers suggestions for improvement.

• Commercial use coffee, iced tea makers, ice dispensers, , non-carbonated beverage dispenser, etc.
• Table management or reservation software
• Possess basic reading and computer skills.
• Must pass background check.

Education / Experience:

• Previous experience as a host / hostess in a full-service restaurant preferred but will train those willing to learn.
• Must successfully complete restaurants training course.

Physical Demands / Working Conditions:

• Prolonged periods (entire shift) of standing, walking, and remaining stationary.
• Must be able to continuously reach, bend, lift, carry, stoop, and wipe with potential for slipping or tripping.
• Must frequently wash their hands and lift and/or move up to 35 pounds.

• Full Time Non-Exempt
• Day Shift and Evening Shift
• Monday – Friday; Weekend availability
• Range $$ - $$ per hour
