Residential Monitor:
As a Jude House employee, you can take pride in helping our patients on their road of recovery. The Monitor works closely with patients in our 24/7 program. The Monitor implements the rules that are mandated and in accordance with JHI Policy/Procedures. Primary responsibility is to afford support to the patients that will ensure their safety; enforce emergency plans/safety practices; comply with the health service policies/ procedures. Provide direction and guidance that will assist patients to align with the rules and guidelines of JHI.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: To qualify for the position, the candidate must have a high school diploma, one-year residential addiction treatment or security experience preferred. Has experience dealing with addicts in rehabilitation preferred.
LICENSURE: Valid Driver’s License and proof of insurance required. CPR/First Aide or ability to obtain required. Medication Certification and/or CNA Certification preferred.
CONDITIONS: The new hire Residential Monitor will observe a ninety (90) day introductory period. With a satisfactory criteria-based performance evaluation, the Residential Monitor will advance to a regular employee status. If the evaluation is not satisfactory, the Residential Monitor may be terminated.
SKILLS & ABILITIES:
LANGUAGE SKILLS: The ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in written form with employees, clients, and outside agencies required.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to work with mathematical concepts in the preparation of reports and data is required.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to prioritize and meet established deadlines; demonstrate proper professional judgment and discretion as well as an ability to exercise a “sense of the appropriate” required. Ability to identify problems, collect data, establish facts regarding employee issues and to prioritize the needs of the client(s) and organization.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Will work in a clean, well-lighted office environment. The job requires sitting approximately 20% of the time and walking or standing approximately 70% of the time. It requires lifting and carrying documents weighing up to 20lbs approximately 10% of the time and requires occasional bending and reaching. Occasional travel may be required via ground transportation.
