Role And Responsibility

As an Instructional Design Specialist at The Joint Chiropractic, you will report to the Director of Training Development, supporting the broader Operations Services and Training department. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Instructional Design Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in content creation for training, with a strong focus on analysis, design, and writing content for diverse learning modalities (ILC, self-paced, digital, and/or JIT). The candidate should possess excellent writing skills, proficiency in InDesign, and a proven track record of creating all content and deliverables for effective instructor-led programs, JIT tools, and print resources. This candidate should be a team player with the ability to effectively write content and create storyboards for handoff to other contributing members of the team for continued development and/or delivery.

As an Instructional Design Specialist at The Joint, you will:

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and SMEs to develop innovative learning solutions that align with Operations Training strategies and overall company initiatives.
• Maintain a patient and flexible project mindset while often working with project ambiguity
• Initiate, own, document, and manage all steps of ADDIE
• Facilitate training and support workshops for cross-functional teams
• Write professional and effective scripts and storyboards for digital learning
• Create professional print learning content such as workbooks, worksheets, flash cards, Quick Reference Guides, and any other print or PDF deliverables as identified by the learning strategy
• Create infographics and other training graphics needed to support professional, customized training for The Joint Chiropractic
• Work with professional printers to print, bind, and distribute learning materials
• Create a plan for development and managing the project with stakeholders, SMEs, and key contributors
• Review and evaluate existing programs in partnership with cross-functional content owners and/or SMEs to make recommendations for enhancements, revisions, and product sunsetting
• Guide course development to ensure successful program content, designs, and materials that align with The Joint standards for consistency and The Operations Services and Train Team’s learning strategy
• Analyze key metrics and performance data to improve training content and the learning experience continuously
• Collaborate closely with other Instructional Designers and Elearning Developers on the team to meet deadlines
• Schedule and lead project and update meetings
• Partner with cross-functional teams to support training requests and initiatives requiring training for rollout
• Develop deep knowledge of The Joint Chiropractic’s franchise model, operations basics, and learning culture
• Write course descriptions, rollout plans, and other detailed communication content for LMS, catalogs, newsletters, and cross-functional partners
• Participate in special projects as assigned
• Perform other training support tasks as needed 

Preferred Experience / Skill sets

• At least 5 years of experience as an Instructional Designer on a team working cross-functionally with SMEs across an enterprise 
• Impeccable verbal and written communication skills with a strong focus on customer service and teamwork (with an eye for detail and formatting)
• Experience in a fast-paced technology-inspired culture with the ability to work in a dynamic environment, consistently demonstrating positive business acumen
• Experience working with professional printers 
• Advanced experience working with Adobe InDesign and Illustrator
• Strong proficiency in Google Suite (preferred) or Microsoft Office
• Strong proficiency in planning, organization, time management, multi-tasking, productivity, and efficiency
• Knowledge of adult learning theory along with a passion for quality training for success on the job
• Maintain a patient and flexible project mindset while often working with project ambiguity
• Adhere to quality and brand standards established by The Joint Chiropractic and the Operations Services & Training team
• Experience in rapid development tools a plus (Rise, Vyond, WellSaid, etc.)
• Proficiency in working within various learning technology platforms a plus
• Ability to adapt to new technologies and learning methodologies a plus
• Experience publishing SCORM 1.2 courses for use in a LMS a plus
