How you can make a bigger difference: The Jewish Board is seeking a The Facility Architect to join our Facilities team. This department maintains & provides quality physical environments that support living, learning and working for people with developmental and mental health diagnoses, helping to ensure the present and future wellbeing of our clients and workforce. The Facility Architect will assist with numerous tasks spanning the full range of design and construction activities in a fast paced challenging environment. Some responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Assist the Sr. Director of Facilities in a wide range of tasks Designing& drafting of layouts for residential, clinical and office spaces.Assisting in formulating Space Programs, Knowledge of standard construction detailing and notation for preparation of Construction Documents Applying architectural principals to the analysis and design of existing, and new spaces for business, clinical, and residential occupancies at sites throughout NYC Assisting in the research of various NYC codes and regulations that apply to designs and occupancies Performing field surveys, basic building inspections, and coordinating work in the field with contractors Assist the Construction Project Manager as necessary; Working with and assisting in managing consultants Other duties as assigned Qualifications The Jewish Board is currently looking for talented individuals of all cultures, religions, races, and gender expressions with the following qualifications: A Bachelor’s degree or higher in Architecture is required Must hold a New York State Architectural License A minimum of 5-8 years of experience in Construction Document Preparation A current, valid clean driver’s license is required for this position Ability to read architectural drawings; Ability to draft plans/elevations/details in AutoCAD Knowledge and understanding of the Principles of Life Safety design; NYC Codes; demonstrated familiarity with Structural, Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Fire Protection and low voltage drawings Ability to work remotely, with frequent travel as needed to various agency sites located throughout the 5 boroughs and lower Westchester is required If you join us, you’ll have these great benefits: Generous paid time off in addition to 15 agency holidays and 15 sick days Affordable and high-quality medical/dental/vision plans Tuition assistance and educational loan forgiveness Free continuing education opportunities 403(b) retirement benefits and a pension Flexible spending accounts for health and transportation 27/7 Accessible Employee Assistance Program Life and disability insurance Diversity, equity, and inclusion working groups that are available for you to join, including Confronting Structural Racism (COR), Coalition Against Anti-Semitism (CAAS), and the LGBTQ Steering Committee Who we are: The Jewish Board delivers innovative, high-quality, and compassionate mental health and social services to over 45,000 New Yorkers each year.
