Position Summary:
The Library Security Assistant at the front desk of the Library Services Center for IndyPL is to perform both customer service and security responsibilities. Create positive experiences for library staff and visitors by welcoming and screening all persons coming into the Library Services Center, as well as a variety of other clerical duties. Checking entire building and secure points of entry, exits and interior areas at closing. Closing and locking gates. Ensure visitors and staff compliance with general safety/security rules and regulations and adherence to the Behavioral Policy set forth by IndyPL. This position functions as part of a department or branch public services team to provide high quality and equitable internal and external customer service. When not monitoring incoming visitors, this position will also be responsible for answering incoming calls, posting scheduled meetings, and entering work orders.
