Lieutenant Patrol Commander - Grade 11

FUNCTION: Under the direction of the Director of Security, oversees the daily operations and supervision of the Security Officers during evening shift.

DUTIES: Supervise daily workflow, schedules, activities, and assignments of Security Officers. Document routine patrol activities and occurrences and review incident reports submitted by Security Officers to ensure proper completion of report. Provide customer service and public safety to residents, staff and properties. 

Assist in training new hires and current staff on various security topics. Participate in evaluating staff performance; work with employees to correct deficiencies; implement discipline procedures. Enforcing department rules and regulations and housing policies and the enforcement of the housing lease. Respond to and assist local police, emergency response and other agencies and appears to testify in court as needed. 

EDUCATION: High School diploma or GED. Possession of a bachelor’s degree in a related field of study or course work in organizational and communication is desired.

EXPERIENCE: Three to five years in law enforcement, civilian or military. Management preferred. Ability to establish effective working relationships with police agencies, subordinates, co-workers, the public and residents. Must have strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work independently and with the management team.
