Summary

The Patient Care Technician assists with activities of daily living, provides basic patient care to the patients and assists in maintenance of a safe and clean environment under the direction and supervision of the registered nurse in charge to whom they are assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Education

• Technical or Vocational training.

Required Licenses/Certifications

• Approved PCT training program.
• Current BLS for health care providers
• Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) Certification Required
• Newly hired Nurses must obtain certification within 6 months of Date of Hire.

Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

• Demonstrated proficiency in acute care nursing, knowledge and skills. Ability to use computer driven patient care equipment.
• Preferred HUC training or previous experience as a HUC.
• Competent skills reflected in Windows and Word Perfect/ (bilingual- English/Spanish preferred)
• Casting and splinting course required (ER Only)
