The Hollister Group is Hiring a Payroll Accountant Near Boston, MA

Payroll Accountant

Our Accounting & Finance Staffing team is currently looking to speak with candidates who would be a good fit for roles with the specifications below:
Responsibilities:

  • Manage all financial and accounting operations related to payroll and benefits
  • Serve as the liaison and partner to vendors, brokers, employees and system administrators in regard to benefits, payroll and system inquiries
  • Reconcile balance sheets and monthly bank statements throughout the close process
  • Develop and run necessary queries and reports for financial reporting process
  • Ensure accuracy and proper maintenance of general ledger
  • Adhere to best practices for all financial transactions and ensure proper documentation is completed and appropriately recorded
  • Prepare financial statements and journal entries to support timely month- and year-end close processes
  • Conduct research on compliance standards to ensure compliance with federal, state and local laws and best practices
  • Identify opportunities for operational excellence and improvement
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field required
  • Understanding of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Minimum 4 years of related Accounting experience, including GL reconciliation and familiarity with benefits and payroll
  • Advanced proficiency with entire Microsoft Suite required
  • Previous exposure to payroll processing and benefits administration; ADP familiarity preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and data accuracy
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills when exchanging information inside and/or outside of the company
