Payroll Accountant

Our Accounting & Finance Staffing team is currently looking to speak with candidates who would be a good fit for roles with the specifications below:
Responsibilities:
- Manage all financial and accounting operations related to payroll and benefits
- Serve as the liaison and partner to vendors, brokers, employees and system administrators in regard to benefits, payroll and system inquiries
- Reconcile balance sheets and monthly bank statements throughout the close process
- Develop and run necessary queries and reports for financial reporting process
- Ensure accuracy and proper maintenance of general ledger
- Adhere to best practices for all financial transactions and ensure proper documentation is completed and appropriately recorded
- Prepare financial statements and journal entries to support timely month- and year-end close processes
- Conduct research on compliance standards to ensure compliance with federal, state and local laws and best practices
- Identify opportunities for operational excellence and improvement
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field required
- Understanding of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Minimum 4 years of related Accounting experience, including GL reconciliation and familiarity with benefits and payroll
- Advanced proficiency with entire Microsoft Suite required
- Previous exposure to payroll processing and benefits administration; ADP familiarity preferred
- Strong attention to detail and data accuracy
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills when exchanging information inside and/or outside of the company
