Job description

The Housekeeping duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Cleaning common areas, including bathrooms and floors.
• Laundry and use of industrial washer/dryer
• Performing housekeeping duties in resident apartments, including:
• Changing beds/linens
• Dusting of furniture, trim and high dusting
• Washing walls, woodwork, windows, door panels, and sills
• Sweeping and mopping and vacuuming
• Cleaning and sanitizing bathrooms
• Empties wastebaskets, and transports trash and waste to disposal area * Ensure that housekeeping and laundry supplies are replenished in work areas.
• Ensure that equipment, tools, and supplies are cleaned and properly stored at the end of each shift.
• Reports resident issues or changes in health or living status promptly.
• Reports potentially unsafe conditions or maintenance related issues promptly to the Facilities Manager.
• May perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Able to operate cleaning equipment such as brooms, mops, vacuums, floor care equipment, etc.
• Able to work at least one weekend day.
• Able to work Holidays on a rotating basis.
• Must be able to read, write and follow verbal and written directions at a level necessary to accomplish the job.
• Must have a compassion for, and desire to work with the elderly and understand their needs.
• Must undergo and successfully pass required background screens.
