Overview

Join the HJF Team!

HJF is seeking a part-time Radiology Technician to perform research and/or development in collaboration with others for projects. The Radiology Technician will aid physicians and other medical personnel by performing a variety of tasks including operating magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scanners and performing diagnostic testing. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required.

This position will be in support of the Orthopedics Knee Simulation program at Keller Army Community Hospital in West Point, NY. This position is between 8-20 hours/week and has a flexible schedule depending on the technician's availability.

The Henry M. Jackson Foundation for the Advancement of Military Medicine (HJF) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing military medicine. We serve military, medical, academic and government clients by administering, managing and supporting preeminent scientific programs that benefit members of the armed forces and civilians alike.Since its founding in 1983, HJF has served as a vital link between the military medical community and its federal and private partners. HJF's support and administrative capabilities allow military medical researchers and clinicians to maintain their scientific focus and accomplish their research goals.

Responsibilities
    Operate a magnetic resonance imaging scanner to obtain images used by the study for data collection.
  • Operate console and peripheral hardware using study appropriate imaging techniques.
  • Enter and monitor patient and study data. Transfer images from disk to electronic media.
  • Rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals set forth by the protocol and as directed by the supervisor.
  • Works under the general supervision of the MRI-designated radiologist while following study protocol. Will report to a chief technologist or manager.
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Associate's Degree in Radiology or related field.
  • Minimum 1 years of experience required.

Licenses and Certifications

  • Registration/Certification in MRI with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Strong written and verbal communication, attention to detail, and ability to work well with a team.
  • A sensitivity to the physical and psychological needs of patients.
  • The capacity to follow a physician's instructions.
  • Valid driver's license and insurance.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a T1/Public Trust background check.

Work Environment

  • This position will take place primarily in a hospital environment.

Compensation

  • The likely salary range for this position is $24.09/hour - $65.00/hour USD. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Final salary will be determined based on market analysis, experience, and education.

Some positions or sites may require that the incumbent be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Proof of vaccination may be required.

Employment with HJF is contingent upon successful completion of a background check, which may include, but is not limited to, contacting your professional references, verification of previous employment, education and credentials, a criminal background check, and a department of motor vehicle (DMV) check if applicable.Any qualifications to be considered as equivalents, in lieu of stated minimums, require the prior approval of the Chief Human Resources Officer.
