The Heights Church is Hiring a Student Summer Resident Near Richardson, TX

Student Resident (SUMMER) ROLE DESCRIPTION

The Student Resident reports to the Lead Student Pastor as part of The Heights Student Ministry. He/she positions The Heights Student Ministry for maximum impact by enabling the Student Ministry Staff to maintain a higher number of D-Groups and E-Groups and to have another staff member present at weekly gatherings and special events to build relationships with students. The Student Resident exhibits the potential to become a full-time staff member at a future time as they fit the qualifications of a pastor and feel called to vocational ministry.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead at least two D-Groups or E-Groups

  • Maintain relationships with students to create a base of students that can be discipled.
  • Collaborate with Student Evangelist to determine if there is an E-Group that they could lead.
  • Have regulary scheduled D-Group meetings that incorporate an approved curriculum and the Look Back – Look Up – Look Forward process or E-Group meetings that incorporate an approved curriculum.
  • Connect students who have committed their lives to Jesus with The Heights Church through baptism.
  • Disciple students that committed their lives to Jesus in an E-Group or connect them with another ongoing D-Group.
  • Equip students to become disciple-makers capable of repeating the discipleship process.

Plan and Lead Regularly Scheduled Hangout Times with Students

  • Plan and schedule times for students to come to the church and build relationships with each other, Student Residents, and Student Ministry Staff.
  • Lead the hangout times assigned to them by ensuring all supplies are gathered, the event is communicated, and the plan for the event is executed.
  • Assist in other hangout times lead by fellow Summer Residents.

Support and Assist in Leading Weekly Gatherings

  • Be present at Sunday and midweek gatherings.
  • Be flexible to fill into different volunteer needs as they arise.
  • Be willing to teach when asked by the Lead Student Pastor.

Support and Assist in Leading Special Events

  • Be present at Special Events and and an active participant in planning meetings for special events, mission trips, etc.
  • Be prepared to lead in various areas of Special Events.

Attend Weekly Student Ministry Team Meeting

Serve as a Fantastic Teammate to Peers on the Staff Team

  • Demonstrate loyalty to Ministers and teammates in action and word

  • Make assists for teammates to facilitate department-wide wins

RELATIONSHIPS

Executive Team: The Student Resident reports indirectly to the Executive Team. He/she is expected to be coachable, available, and responsive to him/her while striving for a healthy, Christ-like relationship characterized by love, truth, and unity.

Lead Student Pastor: The Student Resident reports directly to the Lead Student Pastor. He/she is expected to be coachable, available, and responsive to him/her while striving for a healthy, Christ-like relationship characterized by love, truth, and unity.

Heights Students Staff: The Student Resident serves under the leadership of the Associate Student Minister, collaborates with the rest of the Heights Student Staff, serves as a resource and encouragement to them, and partners with them effectively to achieve maximum Kingdom impact.

The Heights Ministers: The Student Resident collaborates with other Heights pastors and staff, serves as a resource and encouragement to them, and partners with them effectively to achieve maximum Kingdom impact.

Volunteer Teams: The Student Resident embodies and exhibits servant leadership in all interactions with volunteer team members, envisioning, equipping, and empowering them to make the greatest Kingdom impact possible.

Students and Parents: The Student Resident embodies and exhibits servant leadership in all interactions with students and parents, seeking to serve, support, and reflect the love Christ to and for them.
