Local missions Minister

The Local Missions Minister is responsible for overseeing Local Heights Missions direction, initiatives, Missions Representatives, and other missional efforts, under the supervision of the Missions Minister. He/she is focused on leading the Heights Church to be missional in our city and neighborhoods - focusing on outreach, justice, and evangelism.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Provides Leadership to Heights Missions Vision and Initiatives

• Lead and execute various missions initiatives such as Block Parties, Esperanza Navideña, City Serve, etc.
• Set measurable goals to support strategic Missions initiatives
• Work with the Missions Minister to oversee the vision of local missions
• Maintain consistent oversight for the direction of city serving partners, neighborhood ministries, and other local missional efforts

Provides Leadership to Missions Representatives Regarding Local Missions Initiatives

• Maintain and cultivate relationships with Life Group Missions Representatives
• Consistently communicate Missions vision, and inspire, encourage, and pray for Missions Representatives

Provides Leadership to Missions Committee Members

• Assist in leading the Missions Committee
• Manage monthly budget reports as it pertains to Local Missions
• Manage allocating yearly budget goals as it pertains to Local Missions

Collaborates with other Heights Departments to Engage the Church Missionally

• Collaborate with Student Ministry to provide missional opportunities such as Chi Alpha, Serve Dallas, and other events that pertains to missions.
• Collaborate with Kids Ministry for events such as VBS
• Collaborates heavily with Communications team to effectively communicate missional initiatives and share stories

Provide Leadership and Oversight to Heights City Partners

• Maintain and pursue relationships with Heights City Partners
• Actively oversee the activity of City Partners and work to discern their applicability to the Heights Mission direction and vision
• Encourage and support Heights Church members that lead out as a City Partner
• Actively connect with relevant organizations and churches in the City

Serve as an Effective Leader and Teammate to Missions Team and other Heights Staff

• Participate in weekly Missions team meetings
• Check in regularly on the spiritual, mental, and emotional health of Community Outreach Director

RELATIONSHIPS

Missions Minister: The Local Missions Minister reports directly to the Missions Minister first and foremost. He / she is expected to be coachable, available, and responsive to him / her while striving for a healthy, Christ-like relationship characterized by love, truth, and unity.

The Heights Staff: The Local Missions Minister collaborates with other members of The Heights staff, serves as a resource and encouragement to them, and partners with them effectively to achieve maximum kingdom impact.

Volunteer Teams: The Local Missions Minister embodies and exhibits servant leadership in all interactions with volunteers. Envisioning, equipping, and empowering them to make the greatest kingdom impact possible.

Heights Members: The Local Missions Minister embodies and exhibits servant leadership in all interactions with Heights members. Seeking to serve, support, and reflect the love of Christ to them.
