The Health Center Dental- Barre Location is Hiring a Registered Dental Assistant Near Barre, VT

The Health Center Dental is seeking a full time dental assistant to join our close-knit team in our Barre location, formerly known as Vermont Dental Care. Applicant must be a self-motivating, team player who enjoys treating a variety of patients. Great compensation, benefits and flexibility.

Job Type: Full-time; Monday-Thursday 7-3, Friday 9-1

Pay: Competitive Pay Based on Experience

POSITION SUMMARY
Provide quality care and services to patients by assisting dentists and other staff in a variety of patient care, office and laboratory duties. Affect the efficiency and productivity of patient flow through timely, accurate and professional preparation of patients and patient information, including taking x-rays.

PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES
1. Ensure all patients enjoy a positive experience, and are treated with the care and compassion expected.

2. Ensure all patient records and related documents are managed and maintained timely, accurately, and consistent with all HIPAA and related regulations and requirements.

3. Ensure all tasks provided and associated with patient care, patient administrative processes, and related duties comply with all regulatory and accreditation standards, as well as clinic policies and procedures.

4. Develop favorable relationships with all patients. Instruct patients and their family members on general oral health care and/or information related to post-treatment care as appropriate.

5. Establish favorable working relationships with all staff members associated with clinic operations, including; dental hygienists, dentists, and related staff.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. Prepare and maintain dental instruments, materials and equipment.
2. Collect and record patient health histories (dental and medical) and record information for dentist’s reference prior to examination.
3. Help patients feel comfortable before, during and after dental treatment.
4. Take and process x-rays.
5. Assist dentist chair-side by organizing and preparing instruments for dentist’s use and assisting as needed during procedures.
6. Follow through with post-visit duties.
7. Interact positively with a diverse, sometimes difficult, and demanding patient population.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Successful completion of a dental assistant program or previous dental assisting experience (preferred). Although we are willing to train the right candidate.
- Radiation safety certification or successful completion of a radiation safety course (preferred)

The Health Center offers a robust benefits package for full-time employees:

  • You would accrue up to 80 hours of paid vacation, earning an additional day a year maxing out at 4 weeks
  • You would accrue 96 hours of sick leave annually
  • You pay an affordable pre-tax bi-weekly health insurance premium contribution
  • The Health Center pays 80% of your health insurance premium (on average)
  • The Health Center pays 90% of your health insurance plan deductible
  • The Health Center pays 100% of the deductible if you have services onsite, woman’s health, or associates in pediatrics
  • If you do not need health insurance you would receive $200 per bi-weekly pay period ($5,200/year)
  • Pre-tax Flexible Spending Account and Dependent Care plan options
  • We also offer a retirement plan with employer contribution after 1 year
  • After 3 months of employment, short/long term disability and life insurance coverage paid 100% by The Health Center
  • Dental Benefit- $500 per year for employee, then 60% off discount up to $1,000. Spouse/Dependents- 60% off the first $1,000

*Applicant must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 , which includes the most recent booster, per The Health Center policy.
