SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES: The Dietary Department at Rosewood Health & Rehab Center fills a critical role in the care and satisfaction of residents, their families and our staff. Dietary Aides assist in serving meals and snacks and complying with policies and procedures in the Dietary Department. In addition Dietary Aides are responsible for meeting environmental and sanitation requirements for the department. These staff members work under the direction of the Dietary Manager. Available shifts are full and part time.

• Delivers meals to resident rooms at designated times and sets up tables or other dining areas with attention to cleanliness and order.
• Maintain a clean dining areas & dishes using appropriate procedures, discard leftovers & empty trash.
• Understand and follow color coding and abbreviations of tray cards and therapeutic menus.
• Assists the Cook and Dietary Manager as directed.
• Stock ingredients and monitor inventory.
• Helps maintain kitchen equipment and appliances.
• Attend all mandatory in-services, educational trainings and department meetings.

Dietary Aide - Requirements:

• Friendly with good communication skills
• Ability to communicate effectively with staff and residents.
• Ability to read.
• Meet physical demands – stand, sit, walk extended lengths of time, push, pull and lift up to 50 pounds
• Food service experience preferred
• Knowledge of sanitation and safety guidelines a plus
