Job Summary

The Griswold Inn in Essex seeks an experienced bartender to work part time, 3-4 shifts per week, day and evening shifts, including weekends in our historic Taproom. This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic candidate to work in a busy, high-quality and high-volume environment.

Responsibilities and Duties

A typical skill set includes:

• Professional customer service of beverages, cocktails, wine and beer.
• Knowledge of TOAST POS system, basic menu ordering, cash handling and till management during a shift.
• Prepares the bar for service, maintains beverage par levels and performs all other set-up work.
• Stays updated on current menus and practices suggestive selling.
• Delivers the proper guest experience, following established pour standards, using the ServSafe and Tips models.
• Properly open and pour wine tableside.
• Server experience for table service is a plus.
• Issuing guest checks and receipts, accepting payments, returning change.
• Performing basic organization/cleaning tasks as needed or directed by Lead Bartender.
• Greet all guests warmly with an appropriate greeting.
• Adhere to uniform and service standards consistently.
• Communicate products and services available at the Inn.
• Ability to be on your feet and alert for extended periods of time, and lift up to 35 lbs. as needed.
