About the position:
At The Good Shepherd Community Clinic, Inc. our medical office schedulers play a crucial role in facilitating efficient patient care by managing appointments, communication, and administrative tasks within the clinic.

Knowledge and Experience:
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Fluent in Spanish preferred
  • Previous experience in a health care setting is preferred.
  • Strong computer skills are a must.
  • Highly motivated, well-organized and detail oriented.
  • Able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment, while maintaining a high degree of professionalism and exceptional customer service with a diverse patient population
  • Ability to communicate written and orally
RESPONSIBILITIES
Exceptional Customer Service
  • Greet patients in a friendly and pleasant manner using excellent customer service
  • Provide excellent customer service to all patients
  • Professionally answer, return, and forward telephone calls, emails, and faxes.
  • Take and distribute messages to appropriate staff using the Electronic Health Record (EHR)
  • Perform duties in an independent manner with support from the Patient Access Team Lead
  • Educate patients regarding The Clinic’s guidelines and appropriate documents
Appointment Management
  • Schedule appointments for patients
  • Must be adept in working within the schedule portion of the Electronic Health Record (EHR)
  • Review schedule daily to ensure all appointment needs are met
  • Maintain departmental day-to-day office operations, monitor, and prioritize workflow, provider schedules and efficient patient workflow
  • Listen to the patient’s needs and find a solution that is right for them
  • Make patient appointment reminder calls
  • Insurance Card & Demographic Capture/Update
  • Provide interpreting services and ensure patient confidentiality
  • Assist with cleaning duties and document preparation
  • Collaborate with the team to ensure excellent patient care
  • Adhere to clinic policies and procedures
