The Goddard School-Spring Garden is Hiring a Preschool Teacher Near Philadelphia, PA

The Goddard School in Philadelphia-Spring Garden is accepting applications for an immediate full-time position for a Preschool/Pre-K teacher. Come be a part of our growing team! We are committed to creating fun, hands-on learning experiences for children. Previous experience and an education-related degree are preferred.

A Teacher at The Goddard School is responsible for establishing and maintaining a safe, healthy and nurturing learning environment. Additionally, a Lead Teacher and an Assistant Teacher are responsible to work together and in conjunction with the entire faculty.

The Goddard School uses a professional approach to provide the highest standard in health and safety, to develop a life-long love of learning. The Goddard School faculty is made of caring and dedicated teachers who understand each child’s needs. The faculty members are highly qualified childhood educators who use their creativity and the state specific learning outcomes as the basis for unique lesson plans brought to life in a fun and imaginative way.

General Qualifications

A Teacher must meet the qualifications of his/her state and those set forth in the National Standards for hiring (see www.bls.gov), and more.

Teacher Responsibilities

A Teacher’s responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:

Establishing and maintaining a safe, healthy, and nurturing learning environment by:

  • Designing an appropriate room arrangement to support the goals and developmental level of the children in your classroom.
  • Understanding and implementing, when necessary, The Goddard School’s emergency procedures.
  • Posting schedules that meet the children’s need for routine and learning.

Ensuring a well-run, purposeful program responsive to participant needs by:

  • Building teamwork.
  • Developing lesson plans.
  • Managing your classroom according to The Goddard School standards.

Lead Teacher Qualification Requirements:

  • CDA, Associates or BA in Early Childhood Education or related field
  • Prior classroom experience (Early Childhood)

Assistant Teacher Qualification Requirements:

  • High School Diploma
  • Prior childcare experience required
  • Pursuing degree

These positions are supervised and evaluated by the Director but receives work support and assignments from the Director, Owner or Assistant Directors.
