Gifted Teacher for Upper Campus – Part-Time SY 2024-2025

This is a Part-Time Gifted position. The GLOBE Academy is a K-8 charter school on two campuses that opened in 2013 and fosters Global Learning Opportunities through Balanced Education, serving students from all over DeKalb County, GA. With a focus on dual-language immersion, an experiential-learning model and a constructivist approach, GLOBE inspires students to be high-performing lifelong learners equipped to make a positive impact in the world.

Job Description

Essential Functions: The following duties are representative for this position. The omission of specific statements of duties does not exclude them from the classification if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment for this classification. Other duties may be required and assigned.

● Educate gifted students with various gifted abilities collaborative models working with teachers to best serve gifted students in their classroom.

● Ability to communicate and collaborate with parents/guardians, general education teachers, and administrators, regarding the instructional program and student progress in a dual language immersion gifted environment.

● Develop lesson plans through google classroom by utilizing a variety of instructional strategies to improve student achievement and pushing students further.

● Prepare relevant paperwork and scheduling in a timely manner.

● Consult and collaborate with parents, teachers, administrators, and other professionals regarding students’ educational programming.

● Participate in departmental meetings and professional learning activities.

● Ability to develop and maintain systems to monitor overall student progress and specific progress toward achieving goals through formal/informal assessments, and data collection.

● Keep the gifted website up to date and relevant for parents, students, and teachers.

● Responsible for all gifted testing and the gifted process.

Qualifications

● Gifted Teacher Certification required

● Must have knowledge and experience in differentiating instruction and matching intervention to meet the individual needs of gifted students within a dual language immersion program.

● Must be able to work in a multidisciplinary, collaborative team environment.

● Knowledge or proficiency in speaking Mandarin, French, or Spanish is a plus

● Middle school experience preferred

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, PERMITS:

● Valid Professional Standards Commission approved certificate in appropriate field at level T-4 or above required.

● Valid Professional Standards Commission approved gifted endorsements required.

Pay: $27,592.46 - $44,336.22 per year
