We are currently seeking an applicant for an English-speaking lead teacher. Lead teachers should have a solid understanding of teaching in a project-based learning framework and have experience with the Workshop teaching model (Reading/Writing Workshop and Math Workshop). Job Description
Essential Functions: The following duties are representative of this position. The omission of specific statements of duties does not exclude them from the classification if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment for this classification. Other duties may be required and assigned.
● Educate students in English in a dual language immersion program in a 50/50 model.
● Communicate and collaborate with parents/guardians, partner teachers, administrators, special education teachers, and other service providers regarding the instructional program and student progress in a dual language immersion environment.
● Develop lesson plans utilizing a variety of instructional strategies to improve student achievement in a general curriculum; identifying instructional materials; assessing equipment needs to augment instruction; maintaining student data; and promoting positive student behavior.
● Participate in grade level meetings and professional learning activities.
● Develop and maintain systems to monitor overall student progress and specific progress toward achieving goals through formal/informal assessments, and data collection.
● Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
● Minimum of bachelor’s degree in relevant field.
● At least two years of teaching experience is preferred.
● Must have knowledge and experience in differentiating instruction and meeting the individual needs of students within a dual language immersion program.
● Must be able to work in a multidisciplinary, collaborative team environment.
● Knowledge or proficiency in Mandarin, French, or Spanish is a plus.
CERTIFICATE, LICENSES, PERMITS:
● Certification or eligibility for certification in Elementary Education or equivalent
● Permit to work in the United States (where applicable)
