The Gill Corporation-Maryland is Hiring a Quality Inspector - MD Near Edgewood, MD

We specialize in a wide variety of structural honeycomb core materials. By utilizing broad engineering expertise along with sophisticated 5-axis CNC machining and special processing, we have the ability to deliver solutions that are responsive to customer needs.

Compensation for this role: $20.00 to $26.00 per hour commensurate with experience.


Summary:

Maintain quality standards by approving incoming materials, in-process production, and finished products; recording quality results.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities
include the following.

  • Approves receiving inspection of materials supplied by sub tier supplies used to produce finished product.
  • Approves visual and dimensional inspections for in process, completed parts and core blanket assemblies in accordance with The Gill Corporation and/or customer specifications.
  • Responsible for knowing how to use a verity of inspection tools; calipers, micrometers, depth micrometers, scale, protractor etc.
  • Responsible for blue print reading and interpretation.
  • Responsible for identifying, documenting and segregation of nonconforming materials/product in accordance with procedures.
  • Generate non-conformance reports.
  • Perform release and transfer of accepted product into MRP database (Visual).
  • Perform First Article inspections in accordance with AS9102 standard.
  • Maintain retrieval file system for documented objective evidence of material / product status.
  • Responsible for generating required certifications and supplying documentation package for product shipment.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Education (Required)

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
  • Minimum of one(1) year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Working knowledge of an MRP system and Microsoft Office (Access, Word, and Excel).
  • Acceptable vision test results (as applicable).


Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; stoop; bend; balance; kneel; climb; crouch; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands, and arms and talk or hear. The employee must lift and/or move up to 25 pounds on occasion. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
