Description

Position: Director of Education and Training

Position Type: Full time, Exempt

Pay Range: $ 70,000-74,900 annually, based on qualifications and experience

Organization Description

The Center on Colfax opened in 1976 has grown to become the largest LGBTQ community center in the Rocky Mountain region, giving voice to Colorado's lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) community and playing a pivotal role in statewide initiatives to reduce harassment and discrimination. Today we are focused on fulfilling our mission by ensuring that every member of the LGBTQ community has access to the programs and resources they need to live happy, healthy, and productive lives.

General Description

The Director of Education and Training is responsible for leading The Center's RANGE Consulting program and oversight of educational programs of The Center. 

RANGE Consulting (acronym stands for the Retention, Advancement & Non-discrimination of GLBT Employees) provides comprehensive training and consultation on LGBTQ inclusivity to employers in the corporate, nonprofit, and public sectors in Colorado and the Rocky Mountain Region. RANGE combines imperative LGBTQ diversity awareness and legal compliance training protocols to improve the workplace for Colorado's LGBTQ community and delivers these protocols in a meaningful and substantive manner. 

Duties and Responsibilities

· Develops and implements business development, cultivation and customer acquisition plans. Achieves goals through engagement with corporate, government, and nonprofit contacts in cooperation with other team members. 

· Conduct consultations and meetings with potential clients.

· Creates client proposals and service contracts as requested by clients.

· Delivers trainings, workshops, and consultation to clients.

· Analyzes metrics and generates reports for clients. 

· Conducts research and maintains general knowledge of current best practices in workplace for LGBTQ inclusivity and the intersection of those best practices with federal, state, and local laws.

· Conducts regular literature and market reviews of legal and HR related material. 

· Identifies and attends area professional networking events for business leads and opportunities.

· Hosts annual job fair in coordination with the Denver Economic Development & Opportunity Office and other stakeholders. 

· Contributes to the development and oversight of educational programs of the Center. 

· Coordinates and facilitates 3-4 networking events annually. 

· Cultivates, coordinates, and manages contracts with subcontractors for service delivery. 

· Works with the Development department to generate Center Business Partnership Program memberships and to administer benefits to program partners. Directs and manages program volunteers, as needed. 

· Contributes to program/training content and development. 

· Maintains program metrics and submits quarterly reports.

· Maintains online presence via Center website.

Requirements

Qualifications:

· Bachelor's degree in applicable field, Master's degree preferred 

· At least 5-7 years of professional work experience in client cultivation, sales and training

· Knowledgeable about labor law, workplace antidiscrimination, and other employment-related topics. Skilled at training groups of people about these topics and how they relate to the needs of LGBTQ community

· Ability to develop trainings customized for specific audiences and needs

· Ability to manage and administer trainings and community education programs 

· Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook

· Personal commitment to, and working knowledge of, the work of diversity, equity, and inclusion

· Professional nonprofit experience and willingness to work as part of a collaborative team

· Professional experience supporting the LGBTQ community, preferred

· Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as a team member

· Detail oriented with strong organizational skills

· Ability to prioritize and work on multiple projects simultaneously

· Effective communication skills with internal and external audiences

· Passing a criminal history background check

· Fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and able to provide valid proof of vaccination; reasonable accommodation available. 

· Bilingual in Spanish language, preferred.

Working Conditions: 

§ Occasional weekend work required for program events. 

§ Work in a collaborative, fast paced and continually evolving professional environment. 

§ Work in hybrid, physical and virtual, environment, as necessary. 

§ Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds, with reasonable accommodation. 

§ Frequent giving, receiving, and analyzing of information.

§ Frequent use of computers, Microsoft Office Suite, and video conference equipment and software.

§ Must be available to work PrideFest on the fourth weekend every June.
