The Manager/Administrator is responsible for the daily management of The Gary Residence within parameters of established policies and procedures and in keeping with the philosophy and mission of the organization. Create and maintain a high level of resident and employee satisfaction and assure compliance will all applicable local, state and federal regulations.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure adequate staffing, notify Executive Director of needs.
  • Conduct regular performance appraisals with direct report employees.
  • Carry out disciplinary action and dismissal of employees with Executive Director when necessary.
  • Establish and maintain open and effective communication with residents, families, employees, sales consultant, supervisor and other members of the management team.
  • Coordinates with Business Office Manager to provide new staff orientation and training to assure staff is prepared to perform their duties in an effective manner.
  • Provides guidance of staff on an ongoing basis. Strives to maintain a positive and caring work environment.
  • Conduct pre-admission evaluations with RN of all prospective residents.
  • Coordinate details related to move-ins and move-outs.
  • Handles inquiries, maintains record of all inquiries, applications and deposits, maintains regular contact with all potential clients. Keeps waiting list up to date. Provides regular reports to Executive Director.
  • Maintain occupancy.
  • Prepares a list of all potential referral resources in region. Provides them with marketing materials and maintains regular contact with them by email or other means to alert them of The Gary Residence events and vacancies.
  • Works with Business Office Manager to ensure timely payment of rent by residents and proper amenities are billed accurate and timely to residents.
  • Collaborates with Executive Chef in developing and maintaining a high-quality food service to residents and guests.
  • Involves residents in menu planning to assure that their preferences and nutritional needs are considered.
  • Work with Executive Chef in providing safe, appropriate meal and nourishment service with consideration to timeliness, courtesy, and dignity of their service.
  • Monitors resident call system and door security. Reports any malfunction to Supervisor.
  • Participate in providing services to residents.
  • Ensure continuity and consistency in delivery and quality of services.
  • Assess along with the Resident Care Director, residents’ functional status and social, psychological, and spiritual needs on an ongoing basis, but especially prior to move-in and after hospital stays. Assure that assistance plans are completed and arrange services and support to meet resident needs. Refer residents to community-based services and medical services as necessary.
  • Implement approaches and services to maintain or enhance resident independence.
  • Develop and maintain documentation in resident files pertaining to problems/progress presented by residents, families and employees. Documentation must be complete, thorough, detailed and objective.
  • Collaborate with RN action plans and family conferences for resolving problems identified by employees, residents or family members.
  • Collaborate with RN resident/family conferences when a change of service level is required. Document goals and action plans and review dates on appropriate forms.
  • Maintain high degree of resident satisfaction and evaluate resident satisfaction regularly. Implement programs and changes to enhance resident satisfaction with approval of supervisor.
  • Visit all residents in a private meeting on a monthly basis.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly reports as directed by supervisor.
  • Maintain and upgrade knowledge and implementation of standards and requirements specified by federal and state laws.
  • Assume on-call responsibilities on a rotational basis and assign on-call responsibilities to other employees on a rotational basis to ensure after-hours response to resident emergencies and physical plant problems.
  • Ensure appropriate handling of on-the-job injuries as reported by staff.
  • Carry out other duties as assigned by supervisor or as necessary to maintain quality and continuity of services, safety of residents and security of premises.
  • Participate actively in regional business clubs and organizations to promote OM Fisher Home, Inc to the public.

Salary: $55,000.00 – $60,000.00 per year
