The Flower Shop is Hiring a Production Manager Near Brigham, UT

The Flower Shop is hiring a Production Manager to lead our production division. We believe that fine cannabis should be inclusive, approachable, and excellent, and we are searching for a like-minded individual who is goal-oriented, strategy-driven, and hungry to grow our wholesale business, in a thriving industry.

The Production Manager reports to the company’s Chief Operating Officer and is responsible for managing the company’s wholesale channel and our internal clients with a greater focus on our external retail partners. This role has revenue responsibility for the company’s distributed product and is charged with developing and managing an annual sales plan to support stated company goals. This position is largely self-managed and involves managing other individuals on the wholesale sales team. This role requires autonomy, strong leadership, expert analytics, and exemplary interpersonal skills, and must ensure accountability for both internal and external business partners.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Production Manager is responsible for the overall operations of the facility. Key responsibilities include managing internal resources, developing and reviewing standard operating procedures, policies and operational guidelines to ensure product quality and employee productivity, and developing and regularly reporting on key performance indicators to the executive team in a scalable, efficient manner.

JOB DUTIES:

Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • · Responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of the facility; Supports department managers in addressing personnel and production issues, implements solutions to prevent reoccurrence.
  • · Responsible for oversight of staffing the facility and ensuring employees are properly trained in all aspects of their position, including computer and production skills; Responsible for overall facility team building, maintaining a positive culture, and fostering cross-department communication and collaboration as appropriate.
  • · Facilitate operational flow across departments with product development, cultivation, post-production, production, compliance, inventory management, product testing, packaging inventory, distribution, and sales.
  • · Responsible for development and implementation of SOPs, methods, and policies to advance the facility and ensure it meets the needs of the company.
  • · Responsible for the development and achievement of KPIs; report performance to Executive Team on a weekly and monthly basis.
  • · Responsible for ensuring the effective use of technology within the facility, including the seed to sale tracking / compliance system(s) and any potential future ERP / MRP; Lead the buy-in and implementation of any new software solutions or technology within the facilities.
  • · Responsible for ensuring that all departments and facility employees maintain compliance with state regulations, health and safety procedures and well as quality standards.
  • · Responsible for the facility’s P&L; prepares and manages facility budget on a regular basis as well as tracks performance relative to budget.
  • · Ability to manage, forecast and plan for facility procurement needs (infrastructure, nutrients/inputs),
  • · Approve and order maintenance work as needed; ensure facility systems are appropriately maintained.
  • · Have working knowledge of all laws, regulations and operating procedures related to medical & recreational cannabis for all business operations.
  • Participate in external audits; follow up to ensure outstanding issues are resolved in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with cross functional leaders to develop routine internal audits in relation to compliance, safety, and security measures; ensure audits are being completed on a regular basis.
  • Ensure access to facility is only available to authorized personnel to ensure safety of employees, and biosecurity measures are upheld.
  • Proactive communication with COO to ensure smooth operations and transparency with the executive team; collaborative and communicative approach with all horizontal departments, in particular HR, finance / accounting, marketing, IT and procurement.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsible for the overall operations of the Production facility.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • 5 years of leadership experience in production, manufacturing management or a related field.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to build and lead a high performance and efficient team and foster a positive culture and work environment;
  • Working knowledge of safety and security requirements; willingness to learn state and local laws pertaining to medical and recreational cannabis.
  • Excellent organization skills, ability to develop and implement operational best practices.
  • Strong financial and analytical skills, prior experience developing and managing a budget required.
  • Be proficient in Microsoft Office applications and possess strong computer skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to build relationship with internal and external contacts.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently.
  • Must be extremely detail oriented with exceptional organizational skills.
  • Display good judgment in the face of changing priorities with the ability to prioritize and execute multiple tasks; Strong decision-making capabilities.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age and able to pass a background check.
  • Must be able to obtain & maintain required state licenses based on work location.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Employee is occasionally required to use hands or fingers to handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit; the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.
  • Employee is occasionally required to lift up to 25 pounds; the employee is frequently required to lift up to 10 pounds.
  • Employee is occasionally required to work in wet or humid conditions (non-weather) and to work near moving mechanical parts.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $80,000.00 per year
