Department: Treasurer’s Office
SUMMARY
This position is responsible for performing work in our tax, compliance, and internal audit area and providing external audit support as needed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1.) Contributes as a team member to the Treasurer’s Office by:
2.) Aids in the planning process and execution of internal audit work and supports external audit work (50%)
3.) Aids in the coordination of externally performed tax work and preparation of internally performed government compliance reporting. (50%)

Regular Contacts
This position has regular contact with the Internal Audit, Tax, and Compliance Lead, the Controller, other personnel in the Treasurer’s Office, and various managers throughout the organization
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education/Experience
A bachelor’s degree in accounting, business administration, or finance is preferred.
An advanced accounting degree or a Certified Public Accounting (CPA) certificate is preferred.
Experience in government related filings, compliance, and accounting work is necessary.
Experience executing internal audit plans is preferred.
Ability to manage and engage with multiple projects concurrently, communicate on complex topics with internal and external interested parties, and apply critical thinking skills to a variety of compliance matters is important to conducting the work.
Knowledge/Skills
Accounting and general tax related knowledge is required.
Technology Skills
Financial systems, Microsoft Office (including strong Excel knowledge), and an ability to learn new applications and technical tools.
Work Environment
This position works in the Boston office with an opportunity for a hybrid work schedule.
Engagement with Christian Science
Membership in The Mother Church preferred; Primary Class instruction preferred.
Background Checks
This position is required to complete a background check to be hired and annual background checks thereafter.
