Excel Summer Camps & Programs - Nurse
The Position
Excel Programs seeks a full-time seasonal Camp Nurse. Under the direction of the Camp Director, the Camp nurse is to be present and available to assist with any health conditions, medication administration, illness, or injury to staff and children throughout the camp experience, and to ensure their safety and well-being.

About YouSuccessful candidates for this position will:
  • Make a positive impact on children while receiving hands-on experience in a camp setting, professional development, resume building, and networking opportunities.
  • Typical hours for summer camp are 8:00am to 4:00pm.
  • Be responsible for reviewing health forms and allergy/medical conditions on rosters.
  • Administer medications and follow care plans for campers with medical needs.
  • Collect medical forms and action plans for any campers with health conditions.
  • Treat injuries and illnesses that occur with campers or staff and properly complete log or incident reports as needed.
  • Communicate illness or injuries to parents, director and the team.
  • Inform Director of Camp Programs of any concerns regarding the health and safety of the students or other staff members.
  • Work effectively with fellow summer staff members and collaborate on daily responsibilities.
  • Complete assigned paperwork (organize and store health forms, medication forms, communication log, etc.)
  • Serve as a positive role model to children and staff on campus.
  • Professional interaction with students, their families, peers, leadership team and the larger campus/school community.
  • Push/pull, lift and carry a minimum of thirty-five (35) pounds across campus.
  • Drive a golf cart as needed to care for medical needs.
  • Possess physical capacity to fulfill all essential job functions.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Have a valid license as a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse
  • Previous experience working with children in a pediatric setting preferred.
  • CPR/First Aid and AED certified.
  • Prior experience with children with food allergies and other health conditions preferred.
  • Complete all background checks required by the Department of Education.
  • Valid Driver's License required.
