The Dog Stop is Hiring a Front Desk Coordinator at Dog Daycare Near Pittsburgh, PA

Position Overview:

The Dog Stop® Eastside is seeking a highly organized and self-motivated individual to join our team as a Front Desk Coordinator. This role requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills as it involves not only greeting clients and managing administrative tasks but also overseeing the daily operations and care of dogs staying at our facility. The ideal candidate has a passion for animals, exceptional customer service skills, and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities. Knowledge of the dog-care industry is required for this position. If you do not have any experience working with dogs, there is no need to apply. 

This is a full-time position and open availability (including some weekends) is required. Pay typically starts between $13-$15 per hour depending on skill level, with room for advancement.

Responsibilities:

1. Front Desk Coordination:

  • Greet clients, answer inquiries, and provide information regarding services offered
  • Schedule appointments, check-in, and check-out dogs efficiently
  • Collect and process payments accurately
  • Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the front desk area
  • Maintain client records and ensure accurate data collection

2. Administrative Support:

  • Assist with inventory management and ordering of supplies
  • Assist with staff scheduling and coordination
  • Prepare reports and maintain data for management analysis
  • Handle customer feedback and resolve any issues or complaints in a timely and professional manner

3. Dog Care Management:

  • Supervise and coordinate daily activities related to the care and well-being of dogs
  • Coordinate and oversee doggie daycare, boarding, enrichment, and grooming services
  • Ensure all dogs are handled and cared for according to established protocols and safety standards
  • Assist with BOH duties as needed
  • Monitor and maintain detailed records of each dog's preferences, behavior, and medical history
  • Recognize and respond to any behavioral or health concerns and seek appropriate veterinary assistance if needed
  • Communicate with clients to provide updates on their pet's activities and behavior
  • Bathing dogs and nail trims (training provided)
  • Laundry duties
  • Dish duties
  • Clear communication with the assistant and general manager(s)
  • Contributing to a positive team environment and, of course, cuddling and having fun with dogs!

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in animal care or related field is a plus
  • Proven experience in customer service or administrative roles
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Passion for working with animals and providing exceptional pet care
  • Knowledge of dog behavior, handling, and basic healthcare
  • Ability to remain calm and composed in challenging situations
  • Proficient in using computer software and applications for scheduling, recordkeeping, and communication
