Grain Accountant Assistant
Job Description:
The Grain Accountant Assistant is responsible for overseeing the financial transactions related to grain, ensuring accurate and timely payments to suppliers and adherence to financial policies. Collaborates with various departments, with attention to detail, and proficiency in financial management systems.
FULL-TIME/ PART-TIME: Full- time
EXEMPT/NON-EXEMPT: Hourly
Pay: $20-$25 based on skills and experience
Location: Waterman, IL

Essential Functions and Responsibilities of the Grain Accountant Assistant:
Review and verify tickets for grain and exports, confirming accuracy and compliance with contractual agreements and investigate and resolve any discrepancies or issues related to invoices and contracts.
Enter scale tickets into system within the corresponding contract if possible, verify that we received all needed tickets daily and request for them to be sent if any are missed.
Fill out AGRIS inventory report daily and send to supervisor.
Ensuring customers are paid correctly through both invoice and contract information.
Verify contract information and send to the producers by email or mail.
Verify freight and pay truckers weekly.
Answer all emails both from vendors and internal in a timely manner.
Send remittance information to vendors, as well as verify preferred payment method.
Check contract details to ensure we capture any discounts we need to take or price differences due to location change.
Learn the flow of grain from scale to settlement.
Willingness to work in the scale house.
Key Attributes of the Grain Accountant Assistant:
1-2 years previous accounting experience- required
Ability to work in a team setting- required
Proficient in data entry- required
Proficient with Microsoft Office, including Excel- preferred
High School diploma or equivalent experience
The ability to sit for long periods of time at a computer.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently.
Self-motivated.
Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
Other duties assigned.
