Job Title: Maintenance Technician/Handyman

Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and reliable maintenance technician/handyman to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a diverse set of maintenance and repair skills, enabling them to handle a variety of tasks efficiently and effectively. The maintenance technician/handy man will be responsible for maintaining and repairing facilities, equipment, and fixtures to ensure they are in good working condition. This role requires attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Responsibilities:

· Perform routine maintenance tasks such as replacing light bulbs, fixing leaks, and repairing minor electrical and plumbing issues.

· Conduct inspections to identify maintenance needs and prioritize repairs accordingly.

· Repair or replace damaged fixtures, appliances, and equipment as needed.

· Respond promptly to maintenance requests from tenants, management, and visitors. This could involve plumbing leaks or HVAC malfunctions.

· Perform minor electrical, plumbing and carpentry repairs as needed.

· Monitor and maintain cleanliness and functionality of mall amenities, including elevators, escalators, and public seating areas.

· Install and assemble furniture, shelving, and other fixtures.

· Handle basic carpentry tasks such as installing doors, repairing fences, and building shelves.

· Paint walls, touch up surfaces, and perform other minor cosmetic repairs.

· Respond promptly to maintenance requests from tenants or management.

· Keep accurate records of maintenance activities, including materials used and work completed.

· Adhere to safety guidelines and regulations at all times.

· Collaborate with property management and other departments to prioritize tasks and address maintenance issues promptly.

· Assist with snow removal, landscaping, and other seasonal maintenance tasks as needed.

Qualifications:

· At least 2 years’ experience in general contracting, maintenance, or similar role.

· High school diploma or equivalent; vocational or technical training is a plus.

· Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

· Solid understanding of general maintenance procedures and techniques.

· Proficiency in using hand and power tools.

· Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

· Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.

· Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

· Physical stamina and strength to perform manual labor tasks.

· Knowledge of basic building systems, including electrical, plumbing and HVAC

· Ability to work effectively in a team environment, to include working professionally with tenants, vendors, and visitors

· Must be able to lift heavy objects, climb ladders and stand for extended amounts of time

· Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and holidays if needed

· Must comply with all company safety regulations

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
