Full Job Description
New York Fire Detection, Inc. is on the lookout for a proactive and dynamic Systems Sales Executive to enhance our business development efforts. This hybrid role allows for flexibility in scheduling and work location within your designated territory, with no fixed in-office days, making it ideal for self-starters and those who excel in a flexible work environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving the sales of Fire & Life Safety Systems through effective B2B strategies, utilizing their seasoned negotiation skills and ability to forge strong relationships within the construction and technical systems industries. The role involves a blend of phone, virtual, and in-person interactions, including visits to construction sites to engage directly with clients. This position is perfect for a motivated sales professional eager to expand market reach and solidify our presence through strategic sales initiatives.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Business Development: Proactively build and sustain client relationships through strategic outreach like calls, job site visits, and networking events, using CRM software for efficient task management.
  • Proposal Creation: Master building and fire codes to analyze needs, estimate costs, and develop compliant, competitive proposals, collaborating with internal teams for innovative solutions.
  • Sales Closure: Efficiently navigate extended sales cycles, leveraging internal expertise to secure contracts, and solidify long-term client partnerships.
  • Client Management: Act as the primary liaison for clients, managing ongoing projects and cultivating opportunities for new business and project expansions.

The ideal candidate should possess:
  • A minimum of 5 years of successful B2B, negotiated sales experience, preferably in construction, electrical, mechanical, or technical systems environments.
  • Proven ability to thrive in a competitive bidding environment with a strong track record of sales success.
  • Independent worker with a robust intellectual curiosity and a continuous drive to learn and excel.
  • Goal-oriented, with a competitive spirit and a knack for balancing customer relationships with profitable sales.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with CRM systems.

Education and Experience:
  • 4-year BA/BS degree preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Physical Requirements
:
  • Ability to sit, stand, and engage in mobile activity for prolonged periods.
  • Frequently need to climb stairs, balance, and navigate physically demanding environments on job sites.
  • Must be able to lift and move items up to 50 pounds.
