Job Title: Commercial Estimator
Full Job Description
Who we are:
- Review plans and specifications to prepare thorough bid proposals for landscape construction and irrigation projects.
- Gather, calculate, and compile takeoff data for use in estimates, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Prepare detailed cost estimates and routinely update estimates to assist in keeping projects on budget.
- Maintain up-to-date information on pricing from suppliers and subcontractors, ensuring competitive and accurate bids.
- Utilize standard estimating software to present information to management and maintain organized documentation of all estimates.
- Actively monitor online bid platforms for new projects, ensuring timely and strategic bids.
- Ongoing project audits and post review for accounting and estimating procedures.
The ideal candidate should possess:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial landscape construction industry estimating, with irrigation and landscape estimating highly preferred.
- Degree in Construction Science, Construction Management, or equivalent relevant work experience preferred.
- Proficiency in MS Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and familiarity with Bluebeam or CAD; knowledge of Construct Connect is a plus.
- Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks independently while meeting all deadlines and goals.
- Strong communication skills, capable of effectively articulating estimated details with team members and stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy in all aspects of responsibilities.
