The Senior Manager of Corporate Functions FP&A position is responsible for the supporting the financial planning and analysis for total workforce as well as operating and capital expenses for the corporate functions that include Technology, Marketing Supply Chain, Finance, Human Resources, and other Support Center teams.

Responsibilities

• Performs monthly close and forecasting reporting and analysis for the corporate functions and workforce, including key performance indicators (KPIs), story behind the numbers and variance analysis
• Partners with business stakeholders in process of understanding and communicating KPIs and functional performance, modeling business cases and other analysis, and supporting ongoing business projections
• Leads the functional financial budgets and forecasts and partners cross-functionally and within Finance & Accounting to summarize close context and develop forecasts
• Supports development of corporate functions’ Long-Term Plan
• Manages corporate functions capital planning and reporting
• Key contributor providing analytical support for the quarterly and annual public company financial reporting requirements as well as quarterly investor call and board of directors’ presentations support
• Creates and maintains financial and operational models to support and forecast numerous aspects of the business, including investment requests
• Responsible for maintaining discretion related to all confidential/sensitive company and customer information
• Directly manages and develops one financial analyst, with possibility of future expansion of the team as the organization grows

Qualifications

• 6 years in Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A); retail experience a plus
• Quantitative undergraduate degree, preferably with concentration in Business, Finance or Accounting; MBA a plus
• Demonstrated advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial modeling
• Experience with MicroStrategy, Adaptive Planning, Multiview, and Microsoft PowerPoint
• Strong understanding of expenses financial planning and a very solid understanding of accounting
• "Business-minded" finance leader who has the ability to go beyond the numbers in analyzing business matters, and makes strategic and effective decisions in the best interest of The Container Store and our customers
• Ability to partner with various senior business stakeholders to communicate financial results, discuss variances, align on targets, risks and opportunities, and evaluate & model business cases
• Ability to analyze large amounts of information and draw actionable conclusions making sound recommendations for the business
• Knowledgeable about workforce planning
• Knowledgeable about driving FP&A process improvements through improving existing processes and implementing new processes, including but not limited to, reporting, automation and systems
• Ability to communicate concisely, clearly, and effectively in a professional manner, both orally and in writing, at all levels of the organization, including ability to conceptualize, create and teach analysts to prepare effective presentations and reports
• Based in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area on a hybrid schedule
• Must be at least 18 years of age
