The Consortium of Jewish Day Schools is Hiring a Reading Specialist/Teacher Near Pittsburgh, PA

? Join Our Team: Reading Specialist Wanted for Elementary School! ?

Are you a passionate educator with expertise in literacy instruction, particularly with a Wilson Reading System certification? Do you thrive on helping young learners develop strong reading skills and confidence? If so, we invite you to join our dedicated team as a Reading Specialist at our elementary school!

Position: Reading Specialist at Hillel Academy of Pittsburgh

Salary: $35,000-$45,000

Responsibilities:

  • Implement evidence-based literacy interventions, including the Wilson Reading System, to support students with dyslexia and other reading challenges.

  • Conduct assessments to identify students' reading strengths and areas for growth, and develop individualized intervention plans.

  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, special education staff, and parents to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment for all students.

  • Monitor student progress through ongoing assessment and data analysis, and adjust instruction as needed to meet students' needs.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Reading/Literacy Specialist certification preferred.

  • Wilson Reading System certification strongly preferred.

  • Experience working with elementary school students in a reading intervention or literacy support role.

  • Knowledge of best practices in literacy instruction and intervention strategies for struggling readers.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
