Mercaz Academy, an Orthodox Jewish elementary school located in Plainview, Long Island, is seeking an Elementary Science Teacher who is NYS certified.

Elementary Science Teacher responsibilities include:

• Creating a welcoming, warm, nurturing and positive classroom environment.

• Actively participating in the Professional Learning Community.

• Implementing the school’s NYS Learning Standards aligned Science curriculum.

• Planning and implementing rigorous and hands-on lessons, experiments and labs that actively engage students.

• Differentiating instruction to meet the learning styles and needs of each student.

• Providing enrichment opportunities for students.

• Maintaining open and ongoing communication with families.

Hours:

• This position can be full or part time.

Education:

• Bachelor's degree required; Master’s degree is preferred.

Qualifications:

• Valid New York State Certification.
