Job Title: Server/Bartender

Wage: $30/hour, non-tipped

Job Description: The Server/ Bartender plays a key role in creating a positive first impression for visitors and ensuring the smooth operation of daily lunch, special events, and catering. Opus is committed to fostering a supportive environment for both staff and students, where everyone contributes to the organization's overarching goals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Warmly greeting and assisting guests upon arrival.
• Daily Knowledge of our amazing food and beverage offerings.
• Daily setup and breakdown duties
• Operating the register for grab-and-go and table service including cash handling and maintaining accurate records.
• Providing knowledge about programs offered by Opus Creative Industries and effectively communicating Opus's mission.
• Greet guests warmly and provide them with exceptional service throughout their visit.
• Take orders accurately and provide recommendations based on guests’ preferences and dietary needs.
• Prepare alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to standard recipes and custom requests.
• Maintain a clean and organized bar and dining area, adhering to health and safety regulations.
• Process payments and manage financial transactions accurately through POS.
• Handle guest complaints professionally and report them to management as necessary.
• Performing other duties as assigned.
• Strong interpersonal skills with experience in customer service roles, demonstrating an outgoing and friendly demeanor.
• Available for lunch service, Monday-Friday and catering and special event service evenings and weekends with potential for flexible scheduling.
• Dedication to the development and support of Opus’s students, understanding that all roles within the program contribute to this mission.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a bartender and server, ideally in a fast-paced restaurant or bar.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• A friendly, outgoing personality with a customer-oriented approach.
• Ability to multitask and work efficiently under pressure.
• Knowledge of mixing, garnishing, and serving drinks.
• Basic math skills for handling cash and card transactions.
• Certification in food handling and alcohol service (e.g., Safe Serve, TIPS) is a plus.
• Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
