Job Summary
The Billing and Credentialing Specialist is responsible for credentialing new and current providers with Insurance Plans,
- Provide quality customer service to personnel, persons served, families and stakeholders.
- Help maintain the health, safety and welfare of personnel, person served and stakeholders.
- Ensure the agency is operating under CARF accreditation standards.
- Ensure that state and federal licensure and regulations are being followed.
- Implement and maintain our Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
- Supervise employees, complete performance evaluations and respond to leave requests.
- Interview and recommend personnel action (hiring, firing, promotions, etc.)
- Assist with the development of company policies.
- Participate and provide leadership to improve the quality of our services.
- Respond by phone in a timely manner.
- Oversee all functions of billing including authorizations.
- Bill and re-bill claims.
- Follow-up with claims denials.
- Assist with the development of financial reports.
- Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly, and Annual reporting to ELC.
- Ensure company policies and procedures are upheld.
- Ensure that physicians and programs are in compliance with regulations.
- Maintain all program licensing and credentialing.
- Keep records related to insurance contracts and necessary staff credentials.
- Communicate with staff and insurance companies regarding required documentation and changes to contracts or policies.
- Manage KY Connector program for operations staff.
- Evaluate and oversee all medical record requests and recoupment requests and respond in a timely manner.
