The Clubs at St. James in Southport, NC is excited to announce the exceptional career opportunity of a part-time Golf Shop Attendant. Qualified candidates will thrive in a hospitality environment and be highly focused on providing superior service. Golf Shop Attendants offer friendly and expedient service to the members and their guests and assist the Golf professional staff in shop operations, merchandise sales and other related activities. Ideal candidates have flexible schedules with availability to work weekends, and holidays, as needed. Responsibilities
Performs opening and closing procedures for the shop or store as determined by management
Responsible for accountability of POS transactions made
Collects applicable fees from members/guests and outside patrons as they arrive
Assists guests by selling merchandise and providing information in a professional manner
• Assists with rotating stock and keeping displays clean and orderly • Assists with general cleaning of the shop or store
Assist with creating appealing displays
Assists with monthly physical inventories
Incorporates safe work practices in job performance
Regular and reliable attendance.
Performs other duties as required/needed
Education and Experience Requirements
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Ability to read and speak English may be required in order to perform the duties of the job (e.g. the associates may be required to communicate with English speaking customers or co-workers, the manuals for the equipment the associates may use are in English)
Retail sales experience is preferred
Computer proficiency including but not limited POS, Microsoft Office applications
Working Conditions
Frequently stands and uses hands, reaches with hands and arms, talks or hears
Regularly walks, sits, climbs, balances, stoops, kneels, crawls or crouches
Regularly lifts up to 10 pounds and occasionally lifts up to 50 pounds
