The Clift Royal Sonesta Hotel is Hiring an Executive Meeting Manager Near San Francisco, CA

Job Description Summary

This position is responsible for generating conference business from a local or national market, the maximization of sales, development of potential markets and sound administration of assigned responsibilities through sensible delegation and personal attention to detail. In addition, this role is also responsible for the planning and the coordination of all of their own group, conference and catering related activities. This position will act as the primary liaison between the client and the staff of the hotel, with the focus on meeting and exceeding client expectations with every interaction to ensure that our clients leave happy.

Job Description

•Operational/Functional:

oPlan, up-sell and coordinate function details with clients to include but not limited to room block, space requirements, meeting times, equipment, menus, billing, etc. 

oPrepare and execute sales/catering contracts, event orders, group resumes to ensure quality product delivery and customer satisfactions.

oCreate and distribute effective internal and external communication (written and verbal).

oMaintain accurate, legible records and files consistent with established automated or manual sales system.

oPerform special projects and other responsibilities as assigned and participate in task forces and committees as requested.

oAttend and participate in all hotel and/or departmental meetings, training sessions and other information meetings.

•Strategy and Planning: 

oSolicit, negotiate and confirm new and repeat business through various efforts (lead follow up, telemarketing, direct mail, referrals, internet prospecting, etc.) to maximize revenues to meet/exceed goals.

oDevelop and implement creative sales strategy by analyzing historical, current and future hotel/market/account trends.

oDevelop and continually enhance relationships with key corporate, business and travel industry accounts.

oParticipate in training, trade shows, field trips and community, industry and professional organizations to maintain high visibility in support of the achievement of sales and revenue goals.

•Financial Management:

o Maximize revenues by meeting and exceeding booking goals.

oSolicit and close appropriate groups and events based on the property’s needs and demands.

•Managing your Team

oAttract, retain, and motivate the best talent

oEnsure team members receive proper training applicable to their position and career aspirations and in accordance with company policy and/or local laws

oResponsible for monitoring, measuring, and recognizing performance of team members who directly report to the role and indirect reports

oSupport, comply and promote company initiative, policies and guidelines.

oHandle employee issues in a professional and timely manner

oResponsible for ensuring success through the eyes of employees, guests, and owners

oUtilize and collaborate with resources across different departments and corporate office

Qualifications and Skills 

A candidate for this position must possess the following applicable knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to demonstrate and provide applicable examples to support his/her competency.

•Track record of delivering exceptional guest and client experience

•Bachelor’s degree preferred

•Minimum of two years hotel Sales experience preferred

• Demonstrable expertise in analysis and action taking

•Excellent oral and written communication

•Excellent organization skills

•Appropriate professional appearance and demeanor

•Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

•Working knowledge of Delphi, Social Table and Meeting Broker

•Must be able to travel up to 10% of the time
