The City of Fort Worth is Hiring a Sr. IT Technical Support Analyst - Network & Voice Services Near Fort Worth, TX

Pay Range: $77,941 - $101,323 annually

Job Posting Closing on: Wednesday, March 13, 2024

Workdays & Hours: FLSA Exempt position. Monday – Friday 8am – 5pm; some evening/weekend work required. Hybrid on-site work model available with supervisory approval; staff required to be on-site at least 2 days per week.

A Sr. IT Technical Support Analyst position is available with the City of Fort Worth IT Solutions Network & Voice Services division. The Sr. IT Technical Support Analyst helps the City build strong neighborhoods, develop a sound economy, provide a safe community and fostering a healthy environment by having a well-designed and strong network infrastructure; crucial to these city efforts. Since a significant level of discretion is given to this position, you will have every opportunity to effect positive change.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Four (4) years of responsible experience in information system technical support work such as operating systems, networking, server backup and recovery, or related fields.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Minimum of one (1) certification specific to the role: CCNA, ACMA, PCNSA, F5-CTP plus one of the following certificates: CompTIA Network , CompTIA Security , ITIL Foundations certification.
  • Candidate selected for hire must pass a Criminal Background Check for CJIS

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Four (4) years of experience with Palo Alto Firewalls or F5 BIG-IP.
  • Four (4) years of experience managing, upgrading, and replacing Cisco network devices.
  • Four (4) years of experience managing wireless networks.

The Sr. IT Technical Support Analyst’s job responsibilities include:

  • Design, implement, maintain, & troubleshoot wireless, local & wide-area networks including access points, switches, routers, firewalls, and load balancers.
  • Implementation and support of the network security infrastructure including firewalls, content filters, VPNs and all layers of network security.
  • Develop network solutions that meet business needs for projects with varying size and complexity.
  • Assist in mentoring and training lower level technical personnel.
  • Monitor, analyze, and optimize network performance.

Depending on assignment, positions in this class typically require touching, talking, hearing, seeing, grasping, standing, walking and repetitive motions.

Physical Demand

Sedentary Work – Depending on assignment, positions in this class typically exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, a negligible amount of force frequently, and/or or constantly having to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.

Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) Background Check

Applicants for this position must pass a Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) fingerprint-based background check and maintain CJIS eligibility. Due to CJIS requirements related to system access, the following will result in being disqualified for this position: Felony Convictions, Felony Deferred Adjudication, Class A Misdemeanor Conviction, Class B Misdemeanor Convictions in the last 10 years, Class A Misdemeanor Deferred Adjudication, Class B Misdemeanor Deferred Adjudication in the last 10 years, an Open Arrest for Any Criminal Offense (Felony or Misdemeanor), and ALL Family Violence Convictions regardless of class.
