The City of Fort Worth is Hiring a Sr. IT Solutions Manager - Security Near Fort Worth, TX

Pay Range: $116,197 - $151,056 annual compensation

Workdays & Hours: FLSA Exempt position. Monday – Friday 8am – 5pm; some evening/weekend work required. Hybrid on-site work model available with supervisory approval; management is required to be on-site at least 3 days per week.

A Sr. It Solutions Manager position is available with the City of Fort Worth IT Solutions Department Security Division.The Security team, responsible for safeguarding systems and data sources for the City of Fort Worth. The Sr. IT Solutions Manager will be responsible for working with the others in the IT Solutions department along with staff from all City organizations to provide security oversight, assessment, operations and auditing activities to ensure the delivery of highly-available systems and services. The Sr. IT Solutions Manager must have experience planning, developing, and leading technical teams in large scale enterprise environments.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in Computer Science, Engineering, Management Information Systems, Computer Programming, Computer Technology, or a related field.
  • Six (6) years of experience in information systems design/administration, computer systems analysis or computer programming, including three (3) years of administrative and supervisory responsibility.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Candidate selected for hire must pass a Criminal Background Check for CJIS.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Relevant certifications within the Information Security realm - CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional), SSCP (Systems Security Certified Practitioner), CCSP (Certified Cloud Security Professional), CEH (Certified Ethical Hacker).
  • Experience in the risk and vulnerability management practice, including process development and solution deployment.
  • Strong understanding and experience with compliance frameworks and concepts – (NIST, PCI, HIPAA, CJIS).
  • Experience planning, developing, and leading technical efforts in a large-scale enterprise environment.
  • Project management experience on a medium to large scale.

The Sr. IT Solutions Manager job responsibilities include:

  • Review/revise the strategic vision for information security and design the roadmap to achieve said vision.
  • Drive the development and implementation of policies, procedures and strategies to meet goals supporting the vision.
  • Manage a team of information security specialists in support of said goals, assigning and monitoring tasks as required.
  • Lead the IT related efforts to maintain a satisfactory rating with all relevant audits (internal/external, PCI, CJIS, FBI, etc.).
  • Lead the investigation and remediation of any potential information compromises of City networks and/or City owned resources.
  • Orchestrate the design and implementation of information security technologies and continuously assess the performance of implemented solutions.
  • Provide exemplary customer service to technical and non-technical staff.
  • Implement and execute the discipline of continuous improvement within the organization.

Physical Demand

Sedentary Work – Depending on assignment, positions in this class typically exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, a negligible amount of force frequently, and/or or constantly having to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met.

Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) Background Check

Applicants for this position must pass a Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) fingerprint-based background check and maintain CJIS eligibility. Due to CJIS requirements related to system access, the following will result in being disqualified for this position: Felony Convictions, Felony Deferred Adjudication, Class A Misdemeanor Conviction, Class B Misdemeanor Convictions in the last 10 years, Class A Misdemeanor Deferred Adjudication, Class B Misdemeanor Deferred Adjudication in the last 10 years, an Open Arrest for Any Criminal Offense (Felony or Misdemeanor), and ALL Family Violence Convictions regardless of class.
