Teaching Assistant Job Description
Duties:
- Assist the lead teacher in implementing literacy education programs for preschool and toddler-aged children.
- Collaborate with the lead teacher in developing and implementing curriculum plans that align with educational standards.
- Support the lead teacher in creating engaging and age-appropriate lesson plans for various subjects, including math.
- Provide individualized attention and support to students during classroom activities and learning exercises.
- Assist with maintaining a safe and nurturing environment for children, ensuring their well-being and promoting positive behavior.
- Help with daily tasks such as preparing materials, setting up learning centers, and organizing classroom resources.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages active participation and promotes social-emotional development.
- Assist with monitoring student progress, documenting observations, and providing feedback to the lead teacher.
Qualifications:
- A passion for working with young children and a commitment to their educational development.
- Previous experience working in a preschool or early childhood education setting is preferred.
- Knowledge of early childhood education principles, practices, and curriculum development.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, supporting the lead teacher's instructions and classroom management strategies.
- Patience, empathy, and the ability to create a nurturing and supportive environment for young learners.
- Basic understanding of child development milestones and age-appropriate teaching methods.
