The Childrens Community Programs of Connecticut is Hiring a Program Supervisor Near New Haven, CT

The supervisor provides weekly and ongoing supervision to the Family Consultants (FC), who provide support for working families. FCs support parents in their parenting roles as well as help families connect with community services (e.g., health and mental health services, education, housing, and others) and with other families. The supervisor demonstrates respect for the parallel process by supporting, guiding, and building on the strengths of staff so that they may best support, guide, and build on the strengths of the families served.

The Supervisor also assists in the selection of staff, participates in the orientation and training, conducts record reviews, assists in or maintains the data collection system, implements a quality assurance plan, and monitors the performance of FCs. To support their competency, the supervisor must be knowledgeable of and have maintained expertise in providing trauma-informed family support services as well as been trained in and have experience in completing the screening and assessment used by the program.

The Supervisor will develop relationships and support the collaboration with each program location. S/he may also act as a liaison with other agencies and monitor contracts as well as ongoing program development. The Supervisor functions as the team leader, conducting team meetings and planning groups, and provides daily support and crisis management.

Selection Criteria:

o Master’s degree in human services or fields related to working with children and families or Bachelor’s degree in these fields with 3 years of relevant experience.

o a solid understanding of or experience in supervising diverse staff with humility, as well as providing support to staff in stressful work environments

o knowledge of infant and child development and parent-child attachment

o experience with family services that embraces the concepts of family-centered and strength-based service provision

o knowledge of parent-infant health and dynamics of child abuse and neglect

o experience in supporting culturally diverse communities/families

o familiarity with resources in the New Haven community is preferred

o experience in home visiting with a strong background in early childhood prevention services

o willingness to engage in building reflective practice (e.g., capacity for introspection, communicating awareness of self in relation to others, recognizing value of supervision, etc.)

o infant mental health endorsement preferred

o experience with reflective practice preferred

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $75,000.00 per year
