Type: Full time, Lives on campus

Position Purpose:

The House Parents, with assistance from the treatment team, will reside on campus, creating a nurturing and structured environment to address the physical, developmental, and emotional requirements of the children in their care.

Job Specific Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2 years experience in child care related services with children/families
• Experience working with children with therapeutic needs
• Willing to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends as needed.

General Responsibilities:

• Provide physical, mental, medical, and emotional support to children
• Cleaning/organizing cottage
• Preparing food
• Monitoring medications or medical needs
• Help with schoolwork
• Drive to appointments or activities off campus
• Taking children to activities on campus

General Qualifications for All Employees of The Children’s Home of Lubbock:

• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Be able to read, write and communicate with co-workers, medical personnel and other persons necessary to care for the young adult’s needs.
• Have a Valid Texas Driver’s License.
• Exhibit behavior and health status that does not present a danger to young adult in care.
• Meet the requirements of licensing standards in regards to a criminal background check.
• Have a record of tuberculosis screening showing the employee is free of contagious TB.
• Be physically, mentally and emotionally capable of performing assigned tasks and have the skills necessary to perform assigned tasks.
• Commit to the seven values of Sanctuary: Non-Violence, Emotional Intelligence, Social Learning, Democracy, Open Communication, Social Responsibility, and Growth and Change.
• Complete a notarized Licensing Affidavit for Applicants for Employment

Applicants must submit the last five years of employment history.
