Description
We are seeking a phlebotomist to fill in temporarily for a leave of absence. The schedule will be 8:00a to 4:00p Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Expected hours: 22.5/week
Responsibilities include:
- Perform venipuncture and blood sampling from patients
- Provide excellent patient service and ensure their comfort during procedures
- Navigate EHR, retrieve orders, print and process lab requisitions to appropriate lab
- Maintain OSHA standards and adhere to universal precautions for bloodborne pathogens
- Perform laboratory techniques and procedures for specimen collection and processing
- Maintain inventory of laboratory supplies and equipment
- Adhere to safety protocols and ensure proper disposal of hazardous materials

Requirements
Qualifications:
- Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent
- Certification as a Laboratory Technician or Medical Assistant preferred
- Knowledge of laboratory procedures and techniques
- Familiarity with physiology and medical terminology
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills - Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
