About the Job Opportunity

As our organization experiences continued growth, we are actively seeking a dynamic and passionate individual to step into the role of Senior Producer. In this pivotal position, you won't just be overseeing the production of our podcast network – you will be the primary stakeholder entrusted with planning, implementing, and overseeing productions across all facets of programming at the CAC.

The multifaceted nature of this position requires strength in strategic planning, collaboration with both creative and marketing teams, and a commitment to ensuring the flawless execution of high-quality, engaging multimedia productions. Your influence will be felt across various platforms within the organization, leading us to look for a candidate with a comprehensive understanding of the intricacies involved in podcast content delivery.

The Senior Producer will work closely with the Director of Events and Production, in addition to the engagement and foundations teams. This collaborative effort aims to synergize the strengths of each department, contributing to the overarching success of our productions across the organization. 

What You’ll Do:

  • Oversee the creative and operational aspects of CAC’s podcast shows, ensuring the highest standards of quality.
  • Coordinate seamlessly between creative elements and operational logistics for optimal production outcomes.
  • Execute end-to-end video and audio production processes, including development, planning, booking, interview design, scripting, and final editing.
  • Maintain a meticulous approach to overseeing the entire production lifecycle, tracking each phase from ideation to editing and final distribution.
  • Implement efficient systems for episode cataloging and archiving, optimizing the digital publishing process for various platforms.
  • Manage internal and external talent and hosts, fostering a collaborative and productive working relationship.
  • Provide leadership in optimizing performance and ensuring the alignment of creative objectives.
  • Develop and implement contingency plans for various productions, addressing unforeseen challenges and maintaining production timelines.
  • Supervise post-production support to refine framing, structure, and tone for episodes.
  • Offer detailed feedback on scripts, mixes, and episodes to uphold content quality standards.
  • Collaborate with the Foundations Department to identify new sources of diverse stories, writers, and guests, fostering relationships to enhance content diversity and relevance.
  • Stay current of digital video and audio industry trends and best practices, implementing innovations to enhance overall quality and competitiveness.

  • You have an in-depth understanding of various podcast styles, including documentary, interview, narrative, and conversational formats.
  • You possess the ability to adapt content to different styles based on project requirements.

Requirements

  • 5-7 years of production management experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, or related experience.
  • Expertise in budgeting, scheduling, and content development across various mediums.
  • High standard of accuracy, thoroughness, and neatness.
  • Ability to work independently and proactively, seeking out assignments and proposing innovative ideas.
  • Sound judgment and decision-making skills.
  • Trustworthy, with the ability to foster and rebuild trust when needed

The physical requirements of the position include:

  • The physical requirements of the position include but are not limited to, standing, walking, sitting for long periods of time, use of hands to finger, reach with hands and arms, balance, stoop, and squat.
  • Use of computer, keyboard and monitor is necessary.
  • Must be able to lift and carry approximately 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to speak English and listen, hearing sound and words.
  • Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
  • May require some travel and working evenings and weekends.

This is an exempt, full-time position scheduled to begin as soon as possible. We are open to remote candidates located in the United States. We offer a competitive compensation and benefits package for full-time staff positions.

At CAC, we are pleased to offer a salary range of $65,600 - 82,000 (based on experience) for this position. CAC salaries are one part of a generous total rewards package that also includes industry-leading flexibility, benefits, and paid leave. Salaries are established based on a grade system designed to ensure competitiveness with industry standards as well as pay equity. Final salary will be determined based on the specific qualifications of the candidate in relation to the salary grade and predetermined criteria.
