Life Enrichment Assistant 40 hours - Tuesday through Saturday. 9:30AM – 6:00PM.

As The Cedars embraces the Household model of care, we are looking for a Life Enrichment Assistant in our long-term care and Assisted Living Households to organize and implement recreational programs for our residents. Activities include all aspects of wellness such as exercise class, intellectual programs, games, arts and crafts, relaxation and spiritual programs, and social events. The Life Enrichment Team at The Cedars assists our long-term care residents to develop interpersonal relationships, to socialize effectively, and develop the confidence to participate in group activities. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with older adults, experience working in the long-term care setting and with individuals with dementia.

Responsibilities:

• Assists with activities such as exercise, intellectual programs, games, arts and crafts, relaxation and spiritual programs and social events to assist residents to develop interpersonal relationships to socialize effectively and to develop confidence needed to participate in group activities.
• Seeks opportunities to meet residents’ psycho-social needs through both care planned and spontaneous actions.
• Seeks opportunities to support the social needs of all members of the household through support, friendship and kindness.
• Seeks opportunities to share personal interests and talents with members of the household through both planned and spontaneous activities.
• Help with visits, and assist the staff with serving dinner
• Other duties as assigned

Education and/or Experience:

• Currently enrolled in TR degree program or state-approved course.
• One year working with geriatric population, a plus.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent
