JOB DESCRIPTION : RESOURCE DEVELOPMENT & MARKETING COORDINATOR

REPORTS TO : Executive Director

MISSION : The Cancer Association of Anderson lessens the burden on Anderson County residents who are battling cancer.

OVERSEES MARKETING AND EVENT-PLANNING / COORDINATION, AS WELL AS CREATIVELY SEEKS NEW OPPORTUNITIES TO GENERATE REVENUE AND OTHER RESOURCES TO ENSURE SHORT AND LONG-TERM GOALS

The Resource Development and Marketing Coordinator is results driven with a focus on gaining the resources to support the Mission and Strategic Objectives of the Cancer Association of Anderson.

The successful candidate effectively articulates the message and services of the Cancer Association of Anderson in a way that inspires others to act through serving, volunteering, and / or making donations.

The Resource Development Coordinator oversees marketing and event-planning / coordination and works alongside the Executive Directo to creatively seek new opportunities to generate revenue and other resources that ensure the short and long-term goals of the Cancer Association.

Key Responsibilities / Essential Functions

Assesses donors’ needs and interests and packages Cancer Association’s work into products that effectively generate resources.

Develops messages and materials to support campaigns and events. Assists ED in creating materials such as campaign brochures and annual report.

Assists with actively managing social media pages and website. Prepares written communication for traditional and non-traditional media.

Delivers presentations to a variety of audiences in various settings. Assists ED in identifying new avenues to generate revenue.

Works alongside ED and staff to identify strategies and opportunities to best engage volunteers. Demonstrates the ability to proactively identify and qualify individuals and groups to give to and support Cancer Association.

  • Assists Executive Director with various duties and responsibilities related to the Capital Campaign.

Builds relationships across different demographic groups.

Acquires and retains donors and helps them increase their contributions to Cancer Association. Recognizes the power of stewardship thanking donors, informing them about the impact of their gifts, keeping them apprised of progress.

Stays current and anticipates trends and technologies that improve knowledge communication and interactions.

  • Works with companies and other entities to organize fundraising and volunteer campaigns and educational presentations in their workplaces.
  • Creates a positive image is enthusiastic, positive, charismatic, and can generate trust of donors as well as team members.

Conveys energy and passion. Demonstrates self-control in difficult situations.

HOURS

This is a 32-hour per week, part-time, non-exempt position. Hours are typically Monday through Thursday, 8 : 30-5 : 00 pm, with some weekends or evenings required for special programs and fundraising events.

The Cancer Association of Anderson is the only local cancer charity in Anderson County. Our mission is to help reduce the burden of cancer on Anderson County residents battling cancer by providing treatment-related financial assistance, information and referral as well as emotional support.
