Major Duties

Under the general supervision of the Financial Systems Lead, the Financial Systems Analyst will:

  • Oversee all facets of the planning and design efforts; work with functional/technical teams and consultants to gain an understanding of development requirements and create functional specifications.
  • Responsible for project management during database upgrades and implementations for PeopleSoft applications and third-party interfaces. Analyze release notes and upgrade specifications related to system updates; conduct application testing to ensure quality and standards are met; test PeopleSoft finance and student financials applications, including custom programs, upgrades, and other releases.
  • Responsible for researching, troubleshooting, and data table analysis to provide timely and effective systems resolutions.
  • Proactively meet with stakeholders to review business processes, user requirements, and system functionalities to identify areas of improvement.
  • Coordinate and/or lead PeopleSoft development efforts with functional subject matter experts, technical resources, and other system analysts.
  • Prepare functional process guides to assist users with day-to-day processing.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Equivalent to graduation from an accredited four-year college or university in a job-related field required.
  • Equivalent to five (5) years of full-time, progressively responsible relevant experience. Oversight and administration of a program with supervision and/or lead experience.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Strong knowledge of policies, procedures, and outside regulations pertaining to financial and student financial systems. Interpret and apply a wide variety of policies and procedures to develop conclusions and make recommendations.
  • Knowledge of Query Manager, nVision, BI Publisher, People Tools, PeopleCode, Application Engine, SQR, Component Interface, and Integration Broker desirable.
  • Utilize strong analytical methods and techniques for rapid detection and correction of problems with a broad administrative impact affecting finance or student financial records.
  • Ability to multi-task, take initiative, and independently plan, organize, coordinate, and perform work in various situations where numerous and diverse demands are involved.
  • Project implementation and project management skills preferred.
  • Ability to train others, provide lead work direction, and collaborate with other analysts, users, and related departments to provide solutions to campus needs.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong organizational skills, and well-developed interpersonal skills.

Pay, Benefits, & Work Schedule

  • The university offers an excellent benefits package, including but not limited to: medical, dental, vision, retirement & savings, tuition waiver and more.
  • Classification / grade: 1038 / AAS / 3
  • The anticipated HIRING RANGE: $5022 - $8000 per month, dependent upon qualifications and experience. The salary range for this classification is: $5022 - $9083 per month.
  • HOURS: Full Time; 40 hours per week; Monday through Friday; may include evenings and weekends.
  • REG: This is a Regular position with a one-year probationary period. 
  • The position is currently hybrid (3 days in office, 2 days remote); however, this is subject to change based on student and/or operational needs.
