Responsibilities:
· Identifies jobs that are late or at risk of being late and expedites to ensure on-time completion. Adds an expedite priority code to the job so the urgency is visible to the production team.
· Identifies any cost savings possibly via materials, machines, and crew members.
· Develops a supply balance of jobs between existing and forecasted demand.
· Verifies solutions have removed obstacles and parts are moving on time again. Investigates and takes action, if they are not.
· Assists in continuous process improvements; facilitates problem-solving teams.
· Selects procedures and techniques to develop best-practice to incorporate into the overall schedule and projects.
· Identifies and recommends feasible solutions to plan operational issues.
· Assists Plant Manager in product movement throughout all departments.
· Demonstrates the Caldwell Company Values in all work activities.
· Complies with all safety rules and requirements.
Requirements:
· Two years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in a role related to production planning, scheduling, or operations.
· Familiarity with job methods and BOMs preferred.
· Experience using process improvement concepts including identifying root causes and implementing preventative measures.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
· Ability to collaborate with engineering, procurement, and manufacturing teams to address issues affecting production schedules and to resolve bottlenecks.
· Strong problem-solving skills.
· Ability to gain buy-in from those outside direct reporting control.
· Proven ability to meet deadlines.
· Strong detail orientation.
· Excellent comprehension of math.
· Proven ability to read and interpret blueprints.
· Demonstrate proficiency with MS Office, including excel and a basic comfort level with technology.
· Proven ability to work alone or on a team on a broad variety of projects.
Physical Requirements
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Occasionally the employee is required to walk, bend, or kneel.
