The Brownwood Hotel & Spa is Hiring a Front Desk Supervisor Near The Villages, FL

Scope of Responsibilities

Come join our fun Team and be a part of our story! We are a luxury AAA Four Diamond Property Located in The Villages, FL and are seeking a Full-Time Front Desk Supervisor.

Within the spirit of “Making People’s Dreams Come True”, the Front Desk Supervisor greets and serves guests in a professional, hospitable manner. Register guests; provide prompt and courteous service to the guest throughout their stay, resolve guest problems, close guest accounts upon check out and offer fond farewell to the guests. This position is also responsible for delivering Raving Fans customer service to both internal and external customers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Duties and responsibilities for this position include the following; While this is intended to be an accurate reflection of the current job, Management reserves the right to revise the job or to require that other or different functions to be performed when circumstances change or exigencies require (this includes but is not limited to emergencies, changes in personnel, workload, rush jobs or technology developments)

  • Help to support and develop associates in the front office area.
  • Follow The Villages and AHC handbook policies and standard operating procedures.

· Understand and apply all property safety and security procedures to always maintain a secure and safe environment for associates and guests. In the event of an accident or emergency, get medical attention, if necessary, and contact the Guest Services Manager, GM or Human Resources immediately.

  • Assist large volume of guests.
  • Knowledge of reservation systems.

· Promptly answer the telephone using positive, pleasant tone of voice and following the established verbiage. Input messages into the computer. Retrieve messages and communicate the content of messages to guests. Retrieve and send mail, small packages, and facsimiles for guests.

  • Check-in/checkout guests and make reservations.
  • Follow cash handling/banking outlined by general cashier.
  • Build guest and associate relationships.
  • Resolve guest concerns and answer questions at first contact.
  • Identify and recommend opportunities for guests.
  • Assist associates and guests with all questions and concerns that may arise.

· Maintain and provide accurate information on the local area, hotel, and promote hotel facilities.

  • Operate Bell Stand and Bell Cart.
  • Ensure that all concierges are provided the necessary tools needed to complete tasks at hand.
  • Create a courteous and friendly work environment for all associates.
  • Attend departmental meetings.
  • Report any unusual behavior or issues to management.
  • Handle confidential guest information.
  • Maintain the Market inventory supplies and coffee service.
  • Complete all daily responsibilities/cleaning task list.
  • Ensure trash/recyclables are disposed of properly.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Must be able to stand for 8 hours.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

· Tips certification is preferred.

Educational/Experience Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Related experience is required.

Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before guests or associates of the organization.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to perform addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts or percentages.

Reasoning Skills

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear; and taste or smell. The employee is regularly required to stand, walk and run.

The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. This position requires prolonged hand and wrist movement/usage. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and regularly push/pull carts. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, risk of electrical shock, and vibration due to kitchen equipment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
